    I just bought this phone in Denmark in "elgiganten". I am on build "00WW_2_56A" from September 1st 2018 with Android 8.1.0. I am using "3" as mobile carrier. I have no updates available.

    Anybody else with this problem?

    I am a bit disappointed since I decided for this particular phone because I wanted an Android One phone to make sure I always have the latest feature and security updates.

    My phone model is TA-1095.

    I have tried various tricks I could read online. For example, removing the SIM and resetting to factory defaults and then try updating via WiFi without SIM. I also tried to use VPN to make it appear like I was in various other countries (Germany, Netherlands, UK, India). But I have had no luck so far.

    What is it that decides if a phone gets updated or not? Is it down to the serial number? Or GPS location?

    My sim-free Nokia 7.1 (TA-1100) in the UK is stuck on Android 8.1, September 1st 2018 security patch level. "No updates available". So 6 months without a security update.

    Android One. Not secure, not up to date :-(

    I have purchased Nokia 7.1 yesterday having <span>build "00WW_2_56A", model TA-1097 and Android 8.1. I am not receiving any Android security update and Android 9 pie update. Tried factory reset. Not getting any update notification.Please help.</span>

    I have exactly the same problem in Greece. Stuck on September 1st Security Patch, no updates availble despite various "tricks"

    I'm in the exact same situation - september security build and no Pie. Also on 3.

    As far as I can figure out, it's based on the IMEI - and maybe something in regards to an update in the carriers configurations. But I'm just piecing fragments together O:-)

    I've bought multiple Xiaomi Android One phones, and it has always been possible to upgrade/update right after unboxing. So there's something fishy here.

    The marking from Elgiganten says they received in in stock in november 2018. Don't know if it could be an early batch, that are getting the update last or something.

    My phone is the Steel grey 64/4.

    Same here bought in the uk yesterday from Argos the steel Color model TA-1100 and stuck on 8.1 and September security it’s a joke I bought this purely as I was led to believe that android pie was out.

    :'( Just got an unlocked 7.1 from Amazon and for the last 2 days I've been patiently waiting for it to tell me that there is an update...but no love for me. I seem to be stuck at 8.1. I'm in the US on AT&T, and being that we are now at about 4 months since it was announced that it would roll out I wonder why I am not seeing it??

    Given this is not the only thread that is highlighting this problem the silence from Nokia is deafening!!! Come on Nokia just let us know what is the situation.

    Yep, I returned my TA-1095 to Gigantti (Finland) yesterday. No update appeared in 4 days after I bought it. I chatted with support and they have no clue, they forwarded thing for engineering team - with no luck either.

    Funny thing I noticed on phone, was that it showed TA-1095 and guarantee country being Sweden (even I bought it from Finland). So either it's Gigantti selling Sweden originated batch here or something else. I tried upgrade with Telia, Elisa and DNA sim cards - with all tricks mentioned (erase, safeboot, playstore cache erase etc) - no luck.

    So either it's HMD-Global issue (not letting update out) or Gigantti mixing delivery batches between countries. Good luck guys, when I see there is update available for 7.1 - I might re-join the fun.

    I already have this for about 2/3 months or so, its great.
    It just has some crashes sometimes, but I think that's because I don't restart my phone that often and it will run out of RAM.

    My battery has been draining faster tho!

    Still no updates for TA-1100 in the UK. When is Android Pie coming? Here's the 'solution' I got from chat online. But it doesn't work for me and wiped most of my user data.

    Try the next procedure:

    1. Go to Settings > Apps and notifications > App info > Google Play services > Storage > Clear data and Clear cache

    2. Settings > Security and location > Location Off

    3. Please remove the phone SIM card. (Also you can try it with SIM card from another operator)

    4. After that, please check for the update availability via Wi-Fi network: Settings > System > System update > Check for update

     5. Soft reset: Press and hold at the same time Power key and Volume Up for Only 10 sec, until short phone vibration and Powered by Android message. Your phone will restart, without deleting your data.


    VPN Steps:

     After trying the above steps if the issue still remains, you can try to use VPN:

    Turn Location off: Go to Settings > Security and location > Location > Tap to switch it Off.

    Download a VPN from Play Store.(Any VPN application)

    Clear Cache and data of Google Play services: Settings > Applications > Google Play Services > cache and data

    Deactivate Google Play Services. Navigate to Settings > Apps and notifications > See all apps > Google Play Services > Disable

    (In case you cannot Disable it Please go to "settings" - "Security" - "Device Administrators"

    Turn OFF "Find my device" try the steps 2 again).

    Then go to "Settings" - "Location" Turn it OFF. Soft reset the device.

     Now open the VPN app that you have downloaded and run it.

     Check for the Update.

     Go to "Settings" - "Apps"- Look for Google Play Services and Enable it.


    It didn't work for me - but maybe it will work for you. Let me know!

    I've got my 7.1 yesterday in UK steel colour and so far absolutely love it and updated to Pie, reset then set up and so far no problems at all. The only odd thing is I'm on January security patch not March but that doesn't bother me at all just seems odd. This is my 5th Nokia phone under HMD and my favourite so far. Only time I've had issues was with 7 Plus model
