    Just a guess, but I think that they are busy, fixing the bugs in their newest phone Nokia 9.
    So until they are done, we just got to wait.

  • The update could come any day now. I received my February 1 update on February 20-21 - without a compass update.

    whats is the use if updates are broken and they dont fix even the flagships, or update the phone to pie and then they dont deliver security updates. For me this is the last nokia because this is not the nokia we use to know, is just another xiaomi with a fancy name.
  • The Nokia phones certainly are not ANY OTHER brand with a fancy name. I have just reported the Android 9 issue with Support again again. It is incredibly frustrating that HMD doesn't get the issues fixed. But the many things that DO WORK on the Nokia 8 really do work.
    HMD Global needs to fix its support system. Any Chat operatives who don't even know about the Nokia 8 issues should get a new job...

    13th march still no February update. At this rate we might as well skop it and just give us the march update 🙄
    Mid March here in the UK and still no February update. 😕
    Just to add all the 4 Nokia 8s i know about and can physically get my hands on are still all on the January patch with non of the laughably called "hero features".
  • Yes, nokia is not another brand because on phones from others all the things work. And talking to support is like talking to a robot or maybe is a robot there with standars answers .

  • Other brands are also having problems with Android 9 - perhaps this is why Android Q beta is due out soon, way ahead of schedule.

  • IN UK, After months of being on January Security update, I put my foreign Sim card and the Pie update was available straight away. Did the same on my GF's Nokia 8 (2017) , both now on Pie.
    Could you tell us what sim this was?

    I remember when few months ago somebody posted a link to a site where current and former HMD employees were complaining that company was massively laying off employees at the end of 2018. So, just when HMD was introducing numerous new phones to the market, instead of hiring new people, they were laying people off! No wonder we are now in this situation. Classic story with most companies: C-level management makes bad decisions because of their incompetence and instead of resigning, they just down-size the workforce to cut expenses and that makes things even worse in most cases.

    Reading review from one former manager feels as like I'm reading some of my own posts.

    Top management have totally lost their direction and respect by the employees. Taiwanese culture have taken over and there is no value or respect for employees. They firing the manager level people while C-level people who are responsible for all the failures stay


    Advice to Management


    I wonder how you think to succeed when you have lost the respect from everyone, including partners. There is no strategy, no communication, people just disappear like in North-Korea and you don't say a word what happened. Would it be time to make some cleaning on C-level too?

    Anyone have problems with quick charge? My phone (TA-1004, Indonesia) cant charge quickly. Now i have to wait for 3 hours to fully charged from 10%
    Im now in official android pie and february security update
  • No problems at all. My model is TA-1004 and it charges as fast as with Oreo. Yes, it shows 3 hours until full charge, but actually is faster.

    Yes but in my case I think it's a problem with the cable or the USB-C port, not the software.
  • If there's one thing my 8 TA-1004 does really well, it's fast charging. Absolutely no problem.

    If there's one thing my 8 TA-1004 does really well, it's fast charging. Absolutely no problem.
    Same here, mine even charges quickly on a standard 2 amp pre quickcharge Belkin charger but on a certified quickcharge charger it is like lightning.

    Manually flashing a file which has not come directly from the manufacturer is a workaround that most people should not use as there is a risk of bricking the phone with those command line utilities.

    I don't think that HMD specified a minimum time period within which they would deliver each update, can anyone find this?

  • Is not just about security update is also about fixing some bugs in software. Also my wife has an 7 plus which has february update and is not in google enterprise program. I have chosen the pure android for timely updates not because is feature rich.
     One more thing: if it is released one month ago why is not already globally available ?
