Anyone knows which app uses powermonitor so I can reinstall it? Since I've updated to the beta Powermonitor keeps crashing almost every 10-15 mins.
I've submitted it through the feedback app as well twice but I had no response. It is really annoying
No one? :(
Thank you for reporting the issue via the feedback app!
Regarding usage of the Feedback app, please consider the Beta Labs FAQ as well:
Where should I report issues/bugs/suggestions?
You should report everything through the Feedback App.
The community forum is not an official bug reporting channel.
I submitted an issue via the Feedback App. Can I see how this is progressing?
This depends on the severity of the issue. We may need to come back to you for more info but only if you have given us your approval to do so.
We are unable to keep you updated on a case-by-case basis but all issues/suggestions submitted through the feedback app are reviewed.
Thanks for your support!
I've submitted this bug about 10 times using the Feedback app. I never received any reply and this bug is pretty severe as it keeps crashing every 10 mins.
It is affecting the whole user experience and I don't see any support from the team.
Is there a way myself to find which app is causing the crash?
As it says in the FAQ we're unfortunately not able to respond individually to bugs reported via the Feedback App, though they all get reviewed.
For the power monitor issue, it looks like this is a system application. Unfortunately we have no way of verifying what might have gone wrong - but you could roll back to Nougat and install Oreo again to see if it works.
Thanks for your patience,
" Unfortunately we have no way of verifying what might have gone wrong " you mean here in the forums right?
Because with the feedback app I've sent system data as well so you should be able to see what has gone wrong.
Do you release any system updates during the beta that fixes bugs? If you do, is there a web page anywhere that I can I find the notes of any updates?
This might not be to do with the Nokia 8 specifically, Go to "App info" for this application, click "Battery" make sure "Background Activity" is on, and "Battery Optimisation" is off for the app.
Apps running in the background is HEAVILY restricted in Oero, the problem is, many apps have been built to work in the background. I had to do the above for a call recorder app I use and an SMS backup application.. Hopefully most of these issues shortly but it does require the developer to rebuild the way their app works in the background to follow Google's new best practices.
Thanks "user1508987485537". The problem is that I don't know which app is causing the problem. All I get is a pop up that says Powermonitor app crashed. But I don't have an app called Powermonitor.
I will try and disable the Battery Optimisation for the apps that currently run in the background to see if it will fix the issue
Thanks, I've just done it so I will keep you updated.
Unfortunately it keeps crashing :(
Would the "clear data" work? I've only done the "clear cache" before.
All done. Fingers crossed this will fix the problem
So, it's been a day without any Powermonitor crashes. It seems like the "clear data" sorted the problem. Hopefully, it won't come back!
